Augusta, Georgia

Windy Renee Sherman, a radiant spirit born on March 2, 1968, in the quaint town of Waynesboro, Georgia, departed from this world on April 13, 2025, leaving behind a legacy woven with love, resilience, and warmth. She embraced life with an infectious laughter and a generous heart, brightening the days of all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Windy’s journey through life began in the halls of Butler High School, where she graduated in 1986, marking the start of a promising chapter filled with dreams and aspirations. Her time in school was but a prelude to the remarkable journey that lay ahead, one characterized by her unwavering dedication to family and friends.

Residing in Augusta, Georgia at the time of her passing, Windy created a nurturing oasis that welcomed all with open arms. She firmly believed in the strength of community and connection, fostering relationships that spanned decades. Known for her vibrant personality and her genuine interest in the lives of others, Windy established a unique bond with those around her, embodying the essence of kinship.

She leaves behind a cherished family: her beloved daughter, Adrianna Shanks, whose spirit is a testament to Windy’s enduring love; and her siblings, who shared countless memories and supportive moments with her, including Jessica Lawrence, Queen Johnson, Joyce Spurlock, Sandy Holden, Teresa Wimberly, Alvin Wimberly, Jr., Michael Wimberly, Mayhue Wimberly, Robert Wimberly, Denise Wimberly, and Alberta Mobley. Each sibling carries a piece of Windy within them, as they navigate a world now bereft of her comforting presence.
