Willie Lewis Payne

Willie Lewis Payne, a beloved member of the community, passed away on June 24,2024, in Augusta, Georgia, the city where he was born on April 3, 1946. His life was filled with service and dedication, evident not only in his military career but also in the relationships he fostered as well as the lives he touched.

Willie proudly served in The United States Army and retired with the honorable rank of E-7. His commitment to his country was an extension of his commitment to his family and friends. Those who knew him will remember his work ethic, his unwavering integrity, and his kind-hearted nature.

As we come together to mourn Willie's passing, let us also celebrate the life he lived. A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2024, starting at 2:00 PM at C.A. Reid Sr. Memorial Funeral Home in Augusta. The funeral service will take place on Friday, June 28, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Augusta Ebenezer Seventh-day Adventist Church followed by interment at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Hephzibah, Georgia.

Willie Lewis Payne will be dearly missed but never forgotten. May his memory live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
