William Cummings

March 30, 1984 — February 24, 2025

Augusta, Georgia

William Cummings, a beloved son, brother, grandson, cousin, and friend, left this world unexpectedly on February 24, 2025, in his hometown of Augusta, Georgia, at the age of 40. Born on March 30, 1984, William was a shining light to all who had the privilege of knowing him.

William's early years were spent in North Carolina, where he developed a passion for technology and music. He graduated from North Iredell High School in Olin, North Carolina, and soon after became known for his enthusiasm for electronics. He was always eager to set up television systems and delighted in sharing his knowledge with family and friends. William was also a culinary enthusiast who cherished the art of cooking and enjoyed good, hearty meals with loved ones, for it was in these moments that he truly thrived.

His personality shone brightly through his kindness, humility, and generosity. Known for taking people into his home during times of need, William's generous spirit left an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to cross his path. He attended Doyal Grove Baptist Church, where he shared his love for music by playing the drums for the choir, enriching the lives of others through his talents and passion.

William is survived by his devoted father, Denny Dalton; loving mother, Angela Dalton; caring brother, Kenny Dalton; cherished grandfather, Berry Smith; and a host of aunts including Brenda Anderson, Aquinita (Lester) Hills, Christine (Leon) Brown, Adriene Cowan, Monica Cowan, and Karla (Jody) Turner. He also leaves behind treasured cousins, among them Janette "Nikki" Stevenson and Mark "Eddie" Johnson, and his god sisters, Dia Chess and Tracey Wright (Dolly). Each of these relationships held a special place in his heart, demonstrating the deep and loving connections he nurtured throughout his life.

Although William's life was tragically cut short, his legacy of love and kindness endures through the memories he created with family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, William L. Cummings, and his grandmothers, Mary Francis Smith and Janice Moore Cowan, who welcomed him into their heavenly embrace.
