We are gathered here today to celebrate the life and remember the legacy of Thomas Tanksley III, a remarkable individual who touched the lives of many. Thomas, known by his loved ones as a devoted husband, caring friend, and pillar of strength, passed away on January 6th, 2024 in Augusta, GA.

Thomas was born on April 8th, 1942 in Augusta, GA. From an early age, it was evident that he possessed an unwavering determination and a heart full of compassion. These qualities paved the way for a life well-lived and allowed him to make a positive impact on those around him.

Throughout his life, Thomas embraced various roles with grace and enthusiasm. As a husband, his love and devotion knew no bounds. Sheila Tanksley, his beloved wife, has been Thomas's constant companion and source of inspiration throughout their journey together. Their deep connection was not only evident in their shared moments but also in the way they supported each other through thick and thin.

Visitation services for Thomas Tanksley III will take place on Friday, January 12th, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM and will be held at the C.A. Reid Sr. Memorial Funeral Home located at 314-A Laney Walker Blvd Ext., Augusta, GA 30901. 

The funeral service will be held at Bottsford Spring Baptist Church, located at 2154 7 Oaks Rd, Waynesboro, GA 30830, on Saturday, January 13th, 2024. The service will commence at 11:00 AM. Following the service, Thomas will be laid to rest in a burial ceremony at Bottsford Spring Baptist Church at approximately 12:15 PM.
