Sandra Elaine Bennett, beloved by many, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2025, in her hometown of Augusta, Georgia. Born on July 4, 1964, Sandra’s life was a beautiful reflection of her vibrant spirit and deep commitment to her family and friends. She attended the Richmond County School system and graduated from Butler High School in Augusta, where her love for knowledge was evident, and her heart for connection began to blossom.
A dedicated professional in personal home care, Sandra poured her heart into serving others. It was through her work that she exemplified her compassionate nature and unwavering dedication, touching the lives of those she cared for with kindness and warmth. Each life she encountered was made brighter through her gentle touch and thoughtful listening.
Sandra found immense joy in traveling and experiencing different cultures, savoring the richness of life and sharing those experiences with her loved ones. Her quiet yet profound love manifested in small but meaningful gestures, such as delivering birthday cakes to her siblings, which spoke volumes about her affectionate spirit. Sandra's love was a comforting presence, wrapped around her family like a warm embrace.
She leaves behind a loving husband, Leon Bennett, and two cherished sons, Paris Hires and Jaquez M. Taylor. As a sister, her bond was strong with Randy (Angela) Brown, Jeanie Lawson, Edwina (Michael) Stringer, and Cheryl (Curtis) Jones, who will forever hold dear the memories they created together. Her family also includes her uncle, Eddie Brown, and in-laws Ronnie (Annie) Bennett and Lisa Bennett, who will deeply miss her warmth. Her childhood friendship with Jolanda Moore enriched her life, demonstrating the joy of companionship that transcends time.
While Sandra's life was graced with many joys, she endured the loss of several family members who now welcome her to eternal rest. She was preceded in death by her father, Edward Hires, her mother, Carrie Bell Hires, and her sisters Brenda Brown and Jackie Davis, along with her brother, Edward Hires, Jr. Their love and memories live on in the hearts of her family, reminding them of the strength and unity that binds them together even in sorrow.
Sandra Elaine Bennett will be remembered for her loving nature, her adventurous spirit, and her ever-giving heart. Her legacy lives on through all those who loved her, and the impact she had on their lives will forever resonate in the stories they share. A visitation will be held on Friday, March 7, 2025, from 2 - 6 PM at C.A. Reid Sr. Memorial Funeral Home in Augusta, Georgia, followed by a funeral service on Saturday, March 8, 2025 the next day. Sandra will be laid to rest at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Hephzibah, Georgia, following the services at 12:15 PM.
