Rufus Glascock, a beloved father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2025, in Augusta, Georgia. Born on November 30, 1956, in Gough, Georgia, Rufus lived a life rich in love and laughter, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege to know him.
Rufus was a devoted father to his eight children—Sylvia Reid, Elouise Reid, Willie Moses Reid, Bianca Reid, Sharon Reid, Latasha Reid, Lashondra Reid, and Jeremy Reid. He also cherished his sister, Joanne Butler, who, along with his six other children, will forever hold his memory close in their hearts. His nurturing spirit and commitment to family were evident in every aspect of his life. Rufus embraced the role of a father wholeheartedly, celebrating milestones, offering wisdom, and creating lasting memories with each of his children.
He also leaves behind his dear auntie, Arolyn Iniese Glascock, who provided him with guidance and support throughout his journey. Rufus's relationships were grounded in love and understanding, and he relished the moments spent with family and friends, often captivating them with his stories and infectious laughter.
Rufus’s life will be celebrated through several significant services. The visitation will take place on Friday, February 7, 2025, at C.A. Reid Sr. Memorial Funeral Home, located at 314-A Laney Walker Blvd Ext., Augusta, GA, from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM. The next day, a heartfelt funeral service is scheduled for February 8, 2025, starting at 11:00 AM, followed by interment at Second Hopeful Baptist Church, 201 Second Hopeful Rd, Blythe, GA, at 12:30 PM.
