Regina Renee Walker-Griffin

May 15, 1965 — September 2, 2024

Augusta, Georgia

Regina Renee Walker-Griffin, a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, departed this world on September 2, 2024, in Augusta, Georgia, the city where her journey began on May 15, 1965. With a heart as vast as the love she nurtured within her family, Regina was the bedrock of warmth and joy. Those who knew her were privy to the gentle power of her spirit that shaped many lives.

With an impressive career spanning over 34 years as a Data Specialist for the Richmond County School System, Regina built an enduring legacy within the educational community, impactful in ways that echoed far beyond simple data management. Her commitment to the system spoke volumes about her dedication to nurturing the minds of the youth and her unwavering support for the community.

A proud graduate of the Academy of Richmond County, class of 1983, and later, Voorhees University in 2002, Regina's educational pursuits mirrored her thirst for knowledge and personal growth. Each milestone in her life was punctuated by a chance to uplift others, exemplifying her passion for community.

Regina was a kitchen alchemist, known for her culinary talents, as she transformed ordinary ingredients into extraordinary feasts, often gathering her nieces and nephews around her table for large family dinners that burst with laughter and love. Her home was not only a haven of creativity, where crafting came to life through every handmade treasure, but also a sanctuary where family ties were deepened and cherished memories were created.

Her proudest moments included crossing over to Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated in Spring of 2002—a testament to her strength and commitment to sisterhood. Regina was family-oriented at heart; she delighted in hosting gatherings that fostered connection and joy, pouring her soul into everything she did.

Regina leaves behind a tapestry of love, woven through her memories and celebrated in the lives of her surviving loved ones: her husband, David Christopher Griffin; her cherished son, Christopher Rayshaun Walker; and her precious grandchildren, Christian Emmanuel Rayshaun Walker, Braleigh Rayelle Walker, and Kaitlin Smyre. The love of her father, Robert Walker, Sr., and siblings—Joseph Walker, Rev. Timothy (Tonya) Walker, Sr., Kenneth (Francine) Walker, and Deardira (Mike) Kent Kelly—will forever echo in their hearts, a resounding reminder of a bond that can never be broken.

As we gather for the Celebration of Life to honor Regina on Friday, September 6, 2024, at C.A.
