Rashad Dixon, the son of Eddie Dixon, Jr. and the late Janie Scrivens, a beloved brother, and friend, passed away on December 9, 2024, in Spartanburg, South Carolina, leaving behind a legacy defined by creativity, skill, and a profound love for music. Born on June 1, 1982, in Aiken, South Carolina, Rashad was raised with the values of hard work and determination, as he attended various schools in New Ellenton, including Greendale Elementary School, New Ellenton Middle School, and Silver Bluff High School.
Rashad's career blossomed when he established his own lawncare service before making the heartfelt decision to move to Greenville, South Carolina. His dedication to his work reflected his commitment to excellence, showcasing his passion for helping others and beautifying the world around him.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Rashad nurtured a remarkable gift for electrical and electronic skills that he learned from his father, Eddie Dixon, Jr. He was often found troubleshooting and repairing broken electrical devices, sometimes disassembling them to enhance their functionality. His hands-on approach to problem-solving and innovation was remarkable and brought joy to those around him.
Musically inclined, Rashad developed a unique love for creating and writing songs. He poured his heart into crafting beats that resonated with aspiring artists, finding pride in fostering the next generation of talent. His artistic endeavors highlighted his vibrant spirit and the joy he derived from self-expression through music.
Rashad's vibrant personality and enthusiasm touched the lives of many. He is survived by his father, Eddie Dixon, Jr., and stepmother, Sarah Dixon; brothers Eddie Dixon III, David Dixon, Cornelius McKie, and Christopher Pearson; sisters Tawisha Pearson, Kiyomi Pearson, Crystal (Robert) Sparks, Natasha Pearson, Kylie McKie, Tera McKie, and Yshameka (Derick) Mack. The love and camaraderie shared among his family were constants in Rashad’s life, grounding him even during the most turbulent of times.
He was preceded in death by his sisters Jamie Marie Dixon and Lameka Nikki Muhammad, whose memories continue to live on in the hearts of his family. Rashad's absence will be deeply felt, yet his spirit will endure through the love he cultivated with those he cherished.
Rashad’s family will honor his life with a visitation on December 19, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at C.A. Reid Sr. Memorial Funeral Home in Augusta, Georgia. His funeral service will be held on December 20, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Fairfield Missionary Baptist Church in New Ellenton, South Carolina, followed by interment at Southlawn Cemetery & Mausoleum in Aiken, South Carolina, at 12:15 PM.
