Patsy Elizabeth Kelley-Burton, a beloved member the community, passed away on August 2, 2024, in Augusta, Georgia. She was born on November22, 1938, and throughout her life, she touched the hearts of many with her compassionate soul and dedication to helping others.

Patsy dedicated her career to caring for others, working as a nursing assistant, maximum security nurse, and telemetry monitor tech at Talmadge Hospital until her well-deserved retirement. Her nurturing spirit and unwavering commitment to her patients earned her respect and admiration from all who her.

In her free time, Patsy was actively involved in her community and church. She attended the Historic First Ebenezer Baptist Church, where she not only found solace in her faith but also selflessly organized a food ministry. This ministry ensured that families of children undergoing cancer treatment at The Medical College of Georgia received support and nourishment during challenging times.

Among her proudest accomplishments was being part of the first organized half-court basketball team at Wrens High School, a testament to her adventurous spirit and love for sports.

Family meant everything to Patsy, and she leaves behind a legacy of love and memories cherished by her daughter, Charlotte Burton-Williams, her son, Keith (Loni) Burton, her grandson, Tevin Deonte Williams, her granddaughter, Alexis Shakira Scott-Burton, her godson, Hildred Brent Robinson, her brother, Haywood (Kay) Kelley, her sisters Jacquelyn (Wesley) Kelley-Alston and Bebe Shellman, along with extended family and friends.

Services to honor and celebrate Patsy's life will be held on Friday, August 16, 2024, at the C.A. Reid Sr. Memorial Funeral Home in Augusta, Georgia, where visitation will take place from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The funeral service will be held on Saturday,August 17, 2024, at the Historic First Ebenezer Baptist Church in Hephzibah at 2:30 PM, followed by the burial at the same location at 3:45 PM.

Patsy Elizabeth Kelley-Burton will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her kindness, warmth, and dedication to serving others will forever be remembered and cherished. May she rest in eternal peace.
