Michael Holmes, born on October 27, 1954, in Augusta, Georgia, peacefully passed away on April 24, 4, in Columbus, Georgia. He was a dedicated individual who led a fulfilling life filled with diverse experiences and meaningful relationships.
Michael Holmes graduated from Pershing High School in Detroit, Michigan, laying the foundation for his successful career journey. He received his journeymen's card and worked as an Iron Worker before transitioning to become a union steward. His passion for exploration led him to pursue a career as a truck driver, allowing him to traverse the country and experience its vast beauty.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Michael was a cherished family man and friend. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alma Banks Holmes.
Michael leaves behind a legacy through his sons Mike Holmes and Jason Holmes. Michael's presence will be deeply missed by his father Silas Holmes, mother Gloria Holmes, brother Toney Holmes, and the special lady in his life, Tina Harvey.
A visitation in memory of Michael Holmes will take place on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, starting at 2:00 PM at C.A. Reid Sr. Memorial Funeral Home in Augusta, Georgia. The funeral service will be held the following day on Thursday, May 2 at 2:30 PM at the same location. A burial ceremony will follow at Walker Memorial Park in Augusta at 3:45 PM.
