Michael Elam

June 21, 1975 — January 19, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael Elam, a beloved husband, father, and friend, who left us on January 19, 2025, at the age of 49. Michael was born on June 21, 1975, and grew into a man of strength, kindness, and determination, remembered fondly by all who knew him.

A proud graduate of the Academy of Richmond County, Michael completed his education in 1995, paving the way for a career that would embrace the open road. For many years, he was self-employed as a truck driver, where he found freedom behind the wheel and adventure in the miles he traveled. His work brought him far and wide, but no distance could ever diminish the love he cherished for his family.

Michael was not just a provider; he was the heart of his household. He is survived by his devoted wife, Adrienne Campbell-Elam, who brought joy and warmth into his life. Together, they raised three wonderful children: Michael T.C. Elam, Miles I.C. Elam, and McKinley O.C. Elam. Each of them carries a piece of his spirit; a reminder of the countless laughter-filled moments and lessons shared.

From a young age, Michael’s faith was an integral part of his life as he joined Cumming Grove Baptist Church at an early age. His strong belief helped shape the loving man he became—one who was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need.

He is also lovingly remembered by his aunt, Lyndell Elam, as well as his cherished cousins, Shaunna (Chris) Floyd, Khori Hunter, Nicole Elam, Dorian McIntosh, Christopher Floyd, Toby Callahan, and Markees Murray. Each of these relationships brought him joy, support, and countless cherished memories that will forever be etched in their hearts.

Michael’s legacy will continue through the enduring love of his family, including his mother-in-law, Carol Campbell. While he leaves behind a profound sense of loss among his living relatives, he is reunited with departed loved ones: his mother, Sharon Elam; his father, Michael Laney; and his grandparents, Roy and Doris Elam, who welcomed him with open arms in the world beyond.

A memorial service will be held in his honor on Friday, January 31, 2025, at C.A. Reid Sr. Memorial Funeral Home in Augusta, GA, from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM. This will be a time to come together, share stories, and celebrate the extraordinary life of Michael Elam—a gentle soul who touched many lives and will be deeply missed.

As we reflect on the life he lived, let us carry forward the love and warmth he shared, keeping his spirit alive in our hearts forever.
