Lavern Islar, a dedicated machine operator retired from Graniteville Company has peacefully passed away at the age of 70 in Warren County, Georgia. Born on August 31, 1953, in Aiken, South, Lavern leaves behind a legacy of hard work and that will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Lavern was a graduate of Aiken High School and went on to have a fulfilling career at Graniteville Company. Her commitment to her work and attention to detail earned her the respect and admiration of her.
Outside of work, Lavern was a loving mother and cherished friend. She is survived by her children Wilbert Islar and Yvette Midgett. Lavern also leaves behind her siblings Cleo Bradberry, Patricia Hightower, Gary Allen Jr., Carol Butler, and Roy Allen. She was preceded in death by her son, Kenneth Islar.
Lavern's warm smile and caring nature will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her family and friends invite you to join them in celebrating her life at the visitation on Wednesday, July 3rd from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at C.A. Reid Sr. Memorial Funeral Home in Augusta, Georgia. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, July 6th starting at 2:30 PM with final respects paid until 3:30 PM at the same location.
In honoring Lavern's memory, let us also remember the love and light she brought into the lives of those around her. Rest in peace, dear Lavern Islar. Your presence will forever be felt in our hearts.
