Larry Antonio Hawthorne, born on March 17, 1978, in Augusta, Georgia, has left a profound impact on all who were fortunate enough to have known him. His journey through life was marked by diverse experiences, from his days in the Lucy C. Laney Class of 1997 to his active participation in the Laney Pride Augusta Marching Band.
Professionally, Larry excelled in forklift operations and also shared his passion for music as an assistant DJ and host. His talents extended beyond the workplace, as he was known for his dance moves that could light up any room he entered. Larry possessed a genuine gift for bringing joy to others and had a magnetic personality that drew people towards him effortlessly.
Tragically, Larry Antonio Hawthorne bid farewell to the world on April 13, 2024, in Augusta, Georgia. His presence will be deeply missed by his surviving family members: his daughter, Vonnisha Franklin; son, Reonte Aveon Brown; grandson Deshawn Franklin; brothers Gary Hawthorne and Darrell (Kimberly) Hawthorne Sr.; sister Trina (Issac Lee) Lee. In this time of grief and loss, they can find solace in the memories they shared with Larry.
In honoring his life and legacy, a Visitation will be held on Friday, April 19th, 2024, starting at 2:00 PM and ending at 6:00 PM at C.A. Reid Sr. Memorial Funeral Home in Augusta. The Celebration of Life ceremony will take place the following day on Saturday, April 20th, starting at 11:00 AM and concluding at 12:00 PM at the same location. These services offer an opportunity for all those touched by Larry's kindness to come together and commemorate a life well-lived.
