Julia Louise Jones, beloved wife, mother, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2023, in Augusta, GA at the age of 102.
Born on March 18, 1921, in Beech Island, SC, Julia was the daughter of the late John and Martha Westbrook. She grew up in a close-knit community and developed a strong sense of compassion for others from an early age. Julia's kind heart and positive outlook on life endeared her to all who knew her.
Julia's kindness extended beyond her immediate family. She believed in giving back to her community and volunteered at numerous local organizations throughout her life. Her selflessness touched the lives of many people, leaving an indelible mark on their hearts.
Julia possessed a unique zest for life and was known for her infectious laughter. Her positive energy was contagious and could brighten even the darkest of days. She had a natural ability to make everyone around her feel special and loved, and her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have known her.
Julia is survived by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, all of whom will cherish the memories they shared with her. Although she has left this earthly realm, her spirit and legacy will continue to guide and inspire those who loved her.
Friends and family are invited to pay their final respects during the visitation at C.A. Reid Sr. Memorial Funeral Home, located at 314-A Laney Walker Blvd Ext., Augusta, GA 30901, on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
A funeral service will be held at the Greater Young Zion Baptist Church on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, starting at 2:30 p.m. The church is located at 405 Sand Bar Ferry Rd, Augusta, GA 30901. Following the service, Julia will be laid to rest at Cedar Grove Cemetery at 120 Watkins St in Augusta.
Julia Louise Jones was a remarkable woman whose kindness knew no bounds. Her unwavering love for her family and community served as an inspiration to all who knew her. While we mourn the loss of a truly incredible soul, let us also celebrate the joy she brought into our lives. Julia's legacy will forever remind us of the power of love and compassion.
