Juanita Sarah McCord

October 29, 1955 — February 26, 2025

Augusta, Georgia

Juanita Sarah McCord, born on October 29, 1955, in the warm embrace of Augusta, Georgia, left this world on February 26, 2025. Throughout her life, she became a beacon of love and resilience, deeply woven into the fabric of her community and cherished by those who had the privilege to know her.

Juanita was not merely a daughter of Augusta; she was its heartbeat. Her laughter resonated through its streets, her kindness touched countless lives, and her unwavering spirit inspired all who crossed her path. A beloved mother, she dedicated her life to nurturing her children and instilling in them the values of compassion, strength, and integrity. She is survived by her daughters, Laticia Stuppard, Shantrice McCord, Tomasa Hills, and Leslie McCord, as well as her sons, Thaddeus McCord, Theo McCord, and Givante McCord. Each child carries with them the essence of her teachings, her fierce love, and a legacy that will endure through generations.

As we gather to honor this extraordinary woman, there will be a Visitation held at C.A. Reid Sr. Memorial Funeral Home in Augusta on Friday, March 14, 2025, from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM. Friends and family will come together to share stories, reflect on cherished memories, and celebrate the remarkable life Juanita led.

The following day, Saturday, March 15, a Funeral Service will commence at the same location, starting at 2:30 PM, culminating the day with interment at Westover Memorial Park at 3:45 PM. This final resting place reflects the tranquility and beauty that mirrored Juanita's own spirit—gentle, yet enduring.

Juanita leaves behind not just sorrow but an indomitable legacy of love, wisdom, and strength. She taught by example, guiding her children through life's trials and triumphs with grace. Her warmth drew people in, while her fierce loyalty and protective nature created a sanctuary for her family, who will forever carry the love she bestowed upon them.

In the landscape of Augusta, there now stands an empty space where Juanita once flourished, filled with laughter, light, and love. Yet in our hearts, she will forever remain—a radiant star in the tapestry of our lives, guiding us with her spirit as we navigate the shadows of loss. We celebrate her life and honor her spirit, knowing that every memory we shared and each lesson she imparted continues to thrive within us. Rest now, dear Juanita, for your journey here has concluded, but your legacy will forever light our paths.
