John D. Henley, a beloved husband, father, and cherished member of the Augusta community, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2025, at the age of 45. Born on May 28, 1979, in Augusta, Georgia, John filled this world with laughter, warmth, and kindness. He left an indelible mark on all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

John dedicated a significant part of his life to his career at Vanderbilt Dixie Clay, where his unwavering work ethic and commitment to excellence not only shaped his professional journey but also earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues. John was a man who believed in the power of hard work, and he approached every task with enthusiasm and integrity.

Yet, it was his family that brought John the greatest joy. He is survived by his loving wife, Shonnie Henley, and their precious daughter, Angel Henley. The bond they shared as a family was filled with countless cherished moments, and John's devotion to them was evident in everything he did. He was a nurturing presence, always ready to offer support, encouragement, and an abundance of love. His infectious laughter could brighten the darkest of days, and his gentle spirit created a home filled with warmth and peace.

A memorial service to celebrate John's life will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at New Zion Hill Missionary Church in Augusta, Georgia. The service will begin at 11:00 AM, with family, friends, and all who were touched by John's life invited to honor his memory together. This gathering will allow us to share stories, reflect on the joy he brought into our lives, and find comfort in the love that we continue to have for him.
