Jimmie Hubert

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jimmie Hubert, age 77, who left this world on March 5, 2025, in his cherished hometown of Augusta, Georgia. Jimmie was born on December 5, 1947, and he dedicated his life to the simple yet profound virtues of love, loyalty, and friendship.

Jimmie was a well-respected delivery driver for both General Freight and Howard Lumber Company, where his hard work and dedication were truly admirable. His colleagues admired him not only for his strong work ethic but also for the kindness he extended to everyone he encountered. He was a true friend and a beacon of light, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and kindness that will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Outside of work, Jimmie's life was enriched by his passion for sports, particularly football, and his fondness for classic westerns. He was a devoted family man, cherishing his beloved wife, Barbara Shipman Hubert, who predeceased him and holds a special place in his heart. Jimmie leaves behind his devoted children: Rodney Hubert, Cherelle Mayfield, and Felicia Shipman, along with loving siblings Lula May Burns and Sidney Williams. He was also a proud and affectionate figure in the lives of his grandchildren and godchildren, instilling in them the values of compassion and generosity.

As we reflect on his life, we remember Jimmie as a source of joy and comfort. His stories, laughter, and love will linger in our memories, guiding us and inspiring us to carry on his legacy of kindness.

A visitation to honor Jimmie will be held on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at C.A. Reid Sr. Memorial Funeral Home in Augusta, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. All are welcome to gather and share in the celebration of his life. A graveside service will follow on Friday, March 14, 2025, at South View Cemetery, commencing at 2:00 PM.
