Jeannette Mims, a dedicated retired patrol officer with the Richmond County Sheriff's Department, passed on June 22, 2024 in Augusta, Georgia. She was born on September 4, 1933, in Barnwell, South Carolina. Throughout her life, Jeannette exemplified selflessness and unwavering commitment to serving her community. Her years of service as a patrol impacted the lives of many and earned her the respect and admiration of who had the privilege of knowing her.
Jeannette will be remembered fondly by her loving family and friends. She is survived by her sons: Richard Dean Mims, Jarvis Mims, Byron Mims, Kevin Mims, Derrick Mims, Dwayne Mims, and Reginald Mims; and her daughter Karen Mims Pritchett. Their lives have been forever enriched by her presence and guidance.
A visitation to honor Jeannette's memory will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at C.A. Reid Sr. Memorial Funeral Home in Augusta. The funeral service will take place on Friday, June 28, 2024, starting at 2:30 PM at Moses Missionary Baptist Church, followed by a burial ceremony at Cedar Grove Cemetery at 3:45 PM.
Jeannette's legacy of compassion and dedication will continue to inspire all those who knew her. May she rest in peace knowing that her impact on the world will never be forgotten.
