James Cory Parrish, a beloved father, grandfather, son, and brother, passed away on September 11, 2024 in Augusta, Georgia, his cherished birthplace. He was born on September 30, 1977, where he would eventually forge a legacy filled with love, compassion, and an unwavering dedication to his family.
James was known for his skilled as a self-employed floor installer. His hands were not just tools of his trade; they were instruments of care that he used to build and transform spaces, reflecting his passion and commitment to quality in everything he did.
James's joy was found in his family. He was preceded in death by his father, James Edward Parrish and baby daughter, Tyasha Miller. He is survived by his spouse, Stephanie Miller, loving children: Latrina, Tyrell, Jayla, and James Parrish; stepchildren, Lorenzo Miller, Shaquilla Miller and Lakenya Miller. He took immense pride in being a father, nurturing each of them with love and wisdom, always seeking to guide them with the values he cherished. His role as a grandfather further broadened his heart, where he doted on his grandchildren, Jaharie and A'Amari Parrish, pouring the same affection and dedication into their lives as he had with his children.
With a spirit that embraced togetherness, James had a profound connection with his mother, Ora Terrell, and sister, Tracy (Grady) Adams. His family was the foundation of his happiness and the source of many of his cherished memories. Those who had the privilege to know him will remember his warm smile and the way he could light up any room with his presence.
As we gather to honor his life, a funeral service will take place on Thursday, October 3, 2024 at 11 AM at C.A. Reid Sr. Memorial Gibson Chapel. The Internment will follow at Magnolia Baptist Church in Avera, Georgia.
