James Alvin Jiles, a kind-hearted and beloved member of the community, passed away on January 3, 2024, at the age of 82 in Augusta, Georgia. Born on May 10, 1941, in Jacksonville, Florida to loving parents, Samuel Jiles, Sr. and Louise Jiles. James was raised with strong values and a sense of duty that shaped his remarkable life.
James served his country with honor during the Vietnam War as a member of the Air Force. His dedication and sacrifices during his military service exemplified his unwavering commitment towards protecting and preserving the freedom that we all cherish. James will always be remembered as a true patriot who bravely defended his nation.
After fulfilling his military duties, James transitioned to a fruitful career in the railroad industry. He dedicated several years of service to this field, working diligently day in and day out. James's diligence and work ethic were unparalleled, earning him admiration and respect from colleagues and supervisors alike. His retirement from the railroad was greatly deserved after such a long and successful career.
Outside of work and service in the Air Force, James enjoyed spending quality time with his loved ones. He valued family above all else and made it a priority to nurture strong bonds with his children, grandchildren, friends, and extended family members. Those who were fortunate enough to know James intimately were blessed by his wisdom, compassion, and ever-present smile.
Services honoring James Alvin Jiles will take place on January 11th-12th at various locations. The visitation will be held on Thursday, January 11th at C.A Reid Sr. Memorial Funeral Home located at 314-A Laney Walker Blvd Ext, Augusta, Georgia 30901, from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM. Friends, family, and anyone whose life was touched by James are welcome to attend this final opportunity to pay their respects.
The following day, on Friday, January 12th, a graveside service will be conducted at Mt. Olive Cemetery situated at Deans Bridge Rd, Hephzibah, Georgia 30815, starting at 2:30 PM. This ceremony will be a heartfelt goodbye to our dear departed James as we lay him to rest among the tranquil surroundings of nature.
James Alvin Jiles will be dearly missed by all those whose lives he touched. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to have known him. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and dedication that will continue to inspire us for generations to come.
