In Loving Memory of Harvey Wallace Bennett Sunrise Feb 3, 1954 Sunset May 7, 2024 Harvey Wallace Bennett, father, brother and cherished friend, passed away on May 7 at the age of 70. A decorated Desert Storm veteran and mason, he leaves behind a legacy of courage, love, and unwavering devotion to his family. Born on February 3, 1954, in Augusta, Harvey was the son of Sophia Bennett. He grew up alongside his siblings Shirley Hannah, Mary Wilson, Ethel McEntire, Clyde Bennett and the late Roland Bennett. He is survived by his loving daughters Travonda Bennett and Crystal Bennett Harris and a son Rickey Blue and 12 grandchildren and a goddaughter
Harvey's love for his family extended beyond his children. He shared a special bond with his former wife, Janie Howard, and they remained close friends and confidants throughout his life. He leaves behind his aunt, Rosa Lott; sisters and brothers in law Brenda Watson Elaine ‘Moses’ Smalley, Wilhelmina ‘Michael’ Clayborn, Johnny Howard, Willie 'Christine' Howard, Albert Howard, Mr and Mrs Robert Lee Howard, and hosts of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Harvey was a man of many interests and passions. In his later years, Harvey faced health challenges with the same courage and resilience he demonstrated throughout his life. He never lost his sense of humor or his zest for life, charming those around him with his indelible spirit. Harvey Wallace Bennett, will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter. He will forever be remembered. A viewing will be held on May 22 from 12-6pm at C A Reid Sr Memorial Funeral Home.
