Elouise T. Dent

Elouise T. Dent, aged 76, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2025, in Augusta, Georgia, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on May 5, 1948, in Hephzibah, Georgia, Elouise was the ninth of ten children, a cherished member of a family that lavished her with joy and support throughout her life.

Elouise devoted over two decades of her professional life to Church's Chicken, where she retired after 21 years of dedicated service. Her hard work and commitment were well recognized, but it was her infectious spirit and loving nature that truly left a lasting impression on those who were fortunate enough to know her.

Her journey of faith began at an early age, being baptized at Franklin Covenant Church, where she found solace and strength that guided her throughout her life's challenges. Education played an important role in her upbringing, and she attended A. R. Johnson High School in Augusta, Georgia, where she formed friendships that would last a lifetime.

Elouise is remembered lovingly by her family, including her daughter Monique Mays and her grandchildren Nichole Christian, Jessica Mays, Christopher Christian, and Alex Dent. She also leaves behind her great-grandson Omarius Washington, who brought her immense joy and pride. Sisters Annie Williams, Maime Jones, and sisters-in-law Carolyn Dunn, Christine Thomas, and Ruby Thomas hold her memory close in their hearts, alongside many nieces and nephews who will carry forth her legacy of kindness and love.

Though Elouise is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Augustus Dent, her spirit remains woven into the fabric of her family's lives. She taught them the importance of love, resilience, and the strength found in family bonds. Elouise’s unwavering warmth and generous heart will be deeply missed.

A memorial service to celebrate Elouise's life will be held on Friday, April 25, 2025, at C.A. Reid Sr. Memorial Funeral Home, located in Augusta, Georgia. Friends and family are invited to join together at this gathering to honor and cherish the beautiful memories of Elouise T. Dent, a remarkable woman whose impact will never fade.
