Elaine H. Jordan, born on February 15, 1953, in Beech Island, South Carolina, peacefully passed away on February 7, 2025, in Augusta, Georgia. A beloved mother and a cherished friend, Elaine's spirit was as warm as the meals she prepared with love throughout her life. Known for her culinary skills, she found immense joy in cooking, often using her kitchen as a space of creation and connection with those she loved.
Elaine graduated from North Augusta High School and was an active member of the Galilee Baptist Church, where she joined at an early age and was baptized. Her faith was a guiding light in her life, shaping her joyful personality and nurturing her love for community and family.
As a devoted mother, Elaine is survived by her daughter, Christy Henley, and her son, Virgil Jermaine Henley, who carry her legacy forward. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, including her great-grandchild Nequan Jones, whom she raised as her own and was dear to her heart. They were blessed to experience her unwavering support and compassion, instilling in them the values of kindness and perseverance that Elaine embodied.
Elaine was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jessie Jordan. Their bond was a testament to love's enduring presence, and she now rejoins him in eternal peace.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during a visitation on Thursday, February 13, 2025, from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM at the C.A. Reid Sr. Memorial Funeral Home, located at 314-A Laney Walker Blvd Ext, Augusta, GA 30901. A funeral service honoring Elaine’s life will be held the following day, Friday, February 14, 2025, at 11:00 AM, also at the C.A. Reid Sr. Memorial Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, Beech Island, SC, at 12:15 PM.
Elaine H. Jordan will be remembered not only for her boundless love but also for the many lives she touched with her generosity and warmth. Her life was a living testimony, and her memory will forever be a part of the hearts she nurtured and the meals she lovingly prepared.
