Earnest Vaughns, a masterful automotive mechanic whose talents knew no bounds, passed away in Augusta, Georgia on February 12, 2024. He was a shining example of dedication and excellence in his field. Born in Augusta on January 10, 1950, Earnest developed a passion for all things automotive from a young age.
Earnest's legacy extended beyond his professional career; he was a loving husband to Janice Vaughan and a cherished father to Yolanda (Curtis) Williams, Darrell Jackson, and Earnest Vaughns, Jr. His family tree further blossomed with the addition of grandchildren Trashona Kirby, Tahjah Braxton, Fantashia Lyons, J’Naya Lyons, Darrell Jackson, and Christian Jackson. The joy continued with the arrival of his great-grandson Jeremiah Free.
Having graduated from Blanchard High School, Earnest honed his skills as an automotive mechanic and became known for his exceptional workmanship and unwavering work ethic. His expertise was unparalleled, making him a sought-after professional in his community.
A visitation to honor Earnest Vaughns will take place on Friday, March 1, 2024, at C.A. Reid Sr. Memorial Funeral Home in Augusta from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2024, starting at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Earnest will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will live on through the lives he touched and the remarkable work he leaves behind. May he rest in peace.
