Douglas lived an accomplished and fulfilling life. He dedicated many years to his career and retired as a safety specialist. His commitment to keeping others safe was unwavering and earned him the respect of both colleagues and friends. In addition to his professional achievements, Douglas served as a member of the army national guard. His military service was a testament to his sense of duty, patriotism, and willingness to serve his country.
Douglas was loved and appreciated by those who had the pleasure of knowing him. His genuine kindness and caring nature touched the lives of many. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
Family and friends will gather to remember and celebrate the life of Douglas during several poignant events. The visitation will take place on Friday, February 23, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at C.A. Reid Sr. Memorial Funeral Home located at 314-A Laney Walker Blvd Ext., Augusta, GA 30901. On the following day, Saturday, February 24, 2024, at Walnut Grove Baptist Church in Appling, GA (3066 Ray Owens Rd), a funeral service will be held starting at 11:00 A.M.. This service will provide an opportunity for loved ones to pay their respects and honor Douglas's memory. Following the funeral service, there will be a burial ceremony at the same location where the funeral service is being held – Walnut Grove Baptist Church – starting at 12:15 PM. During these gatherings, stories of Douglas's incredible life will be shared with fondness and admiration. He leaves behind a legacy filled with love, compassion, and cherished memories that will continue to inspire those who knew him.
Douglas Hill Sr.'s passing is mourned by his family, including his children, and siblings. The loss of such a remarkable individual is felt deeply by all who were fortunate enough to have known him.
