He was born on September 29, 1936, in Hephzibah, Georgia. Charlie's loving wife Patsy Kelley-Burton survives him.
Charlie dedicated many years of his life to his career at Shapiro Meat Packing Plant. His commitment to his work and the values he held made him an invaluable member of the team. Charlie's hard work ethic and friendly demeanor earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues. Beyond his professional life, Charlie will forever be remembered for his genuine kindness and compassionate nature. He had a special gift for connecting with people from all walks of life. Always ready to lend a helping hand or lend an attentive ear, he made everyone feel seen and valued.
Friends, family, and loved ones are cordially invited to honor Charlie's memory during two events. The first one will be a visitation held at C.A. Reid Sr. Memorial Funeral Home on Saturday, February 17th, 2024. Starting at 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM, this will provide an opportunity for everyone close to Charlie to share their memories and pay their respects.
The second event will be held at Historic First Ebenezer Baptist Church in Hephzibah on Monday, February 19th, 2024. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM and conclude at 2:00 PM. This service will encapsulate the life and legacy of Charlie Burton, allowing friends and family to come together in unity to commemorate his accomplishments, reflect on his impact, and find solace through shared memories. Following the funeral service, the internment will take place at Historic First Ebenezer Baptist Church.
