Roosevelt Bridges

~ ROOSEVELT BRIDGES OBITUARY ~ Funeral services for Mr. Roosevelt Bridges will be conducted this Friday, August 29, 2014 at 2 PM at New Life Worship Center with Pastor Regina Harris officiaitng. Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Visitation will be Thursday, August 28, 2014 from 3 - 7 PM at C.A. Reid Sr. Memorial Funeral Home. GUESTBOOK ENTRIES: It was 2008 when I was invited to work in the campus library at Paine College and soon thereafter that Mr. Roosevelt Bridges extended a lunch invitation to me since I did not know the area well. That was the start of our lunch pack where he knew all of the best places & best ways to get there & back within our lunch break's time limit. We'd trade who paid for lunch back & forth to the point that we'd lost track. My immediate supervisor would often say, "There they go again CAMERAMAN & his side kick Camcorder." He would instead call me Corporal Yarborough or Yard Bird (like I got during Basic Training). I believe that when 1's headstone is made they put the date of birth, the date they passed, but in between  there's a dash. I am glad to have known Mr. Bridges and I know those that met him would agree that his "dash" was not long enough, but it was an honor for even a brief moment to have been in his presence.
