~ DEACON RICHARD LEWIS KENNEDY OBITUARY ~ Deacon Richard Lewis Kennedy was born October 21, 1951 in Augusta, GA. He entered into rest on September 22, 2018. Viewing will be on October 1, 2018 from 1 pm to 7 pm at C.A. Reid Funeral Home located at 542 Laney Walker Blvd Ext. Augusta, GA 30901. Funeral services will be held at Second Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church located at 1243 Summer Street Augusta, GA 30901on October 2, 2018 at 2:30 pm. Final interment will be at Mount Olive Memorial Gardens Cemetery located at 3666 Deans Bridge Road Hephzibah, GA 30815. A repast will be held following the interment service at Second Shiloh Baptist Church located at 1243 Summer Street Augusta, GA 30901. Please send all cards and flowers to the funeral home. Richard affectingly known as Rev and Pop was loved by many. He was a 1972 graduate of Lucy C. Laney High School. He loved the Lord, enjoyed reading his word daily, and attended church regularly. He was a faithful member of Second Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church where he served as the Chief of the Usher Board, a member of the Ushers Union of Georgia, deacon, Trustee, and sung with the Jubiliars and the Senior Choirs. He worked for the Augusta Country Club, Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, People’s Funeral Home, and C.A. Reid, Sr. Memorial Funeral Home. He will be missed dearly, never forgotten, and always remembered by those whose lives he touched. Richard was proceeded in death by his parents, Earl Edison and Lannie Bell Kennedy Sr.; siblings: Earl Edison Kennedy Jr, Ernestine Kennedy Moss Rhoney, and Charlie Mae Kennedy. Richard leaves behind to cherish his memories siblings: Ida Brown, William (Johnnie Mae) Kennedy, James (Virginia) Kennedy, and adopted sister Connie Kennedy; god sister: Annie Ruth Williams, godchildren: Willie Williams, Miracle Blake, and Marques Williams; and 14 nieces and nephews, 27 great nieces and nephews; 6 great-great nieces and nephews; and a host of cousins and close friends.
