~ GWENDOLYN SHANDS OBITUARY ~ Ms. Gwendolyn Whitehead Shands of 3919 departed this life Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at her residence. She was born December 8, 1935 to the late Johnnie and Norean Whitehead. Ms. Shands was a native of Richmond County and was educated in the Richmond County School System. She is survived by: her former husband, Preston Shands, Sr.; four daughters, Cheryl Perry Jones of Augusta, GA, Corliss Perry Neal (Willie) of Decatur, GA, Joyce Shands Wilbon of Augusta, GA, and Pamela Karen Lattier (Ronald) of Shreveport, LA; two sons, Preston Shands, Jr. (Sharon) of Clinton, SC and Kenneth Miguel Shands of Atlanta, GA; one sister, Mabel Jean Williams (Julian) of Augusta, GA; one brother, Richard Rice, Jr. of New York City, New York; ten grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.   GUESTBOOK ENTRIES: Family of Mrs. Gwendolyn Whitehead Shands To the Family of My Link Sister and Soror Pammela Lattier, My family and I are praying for you at this time of sorrow; but, we know that with God's help you will prevail!
