~ GEORGE OLIPHANT OBITUARY ~ Graveside Service for Mr. George L. Oliphant who entered into rest on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 will be conducted on Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at Fort Jackson Nationa Cemetery in Columbia, S. C. at 1:00 P.M. with the Brother Carl Jones officiating. Burial will be in the Fort Jackson National Cemetery. Mr. George L. Oliphant was born on September 6, 1950 in Wrens, Ga. He was a 1968 graduate of Jefferson County High School and served for twenty-one years in the U. S. Army. He leaves to cherish his memories: Wife: Claudia McCloud-Oliphant; Sons: Demetris (Wanda) Oliphant, George (Wendy) Oliphant, Cordell Wallace; Daughter: FranShay McCloud; three grandchildren, two brother, one sister, one brother-in-law, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
