~ Freddie D. Ruffin, Jr. OBITUARY ~ Freddie D. Ruffin, Jr., age 72, of Augusta, Georgia passed away on Wednesday , July 27, 2022. He was born January 22, 1950 to the late Freddie & Thelma (Manigault) Ruffin and was raised primarily in the Hunts Point area of Bronx, NY. Siblings include 2 sisters; Jacquelyn Wright and the late Dr. Patricia Ruffin-Kitaw, and 1 brother, Alfredy Earl Ruffin (spouse Elizabeth). Freddie was joined in holy matrimony to former spouse Cheri Coleman. God favored their union with a daughter Stacy Ruffin-McCardell (souse Aaron). Freddie was also survived by 4 grandchildren; Alicia, Lauryn, Mariah and Aaron McCardell IV, an aunt, Laura Toatley, aunt-in-law, Annie Lee Manigault (spouse Robert, deceased), nephew Gregory Wright (spouse Shannon) and children, LeAsia Wright Woods (spouse Christopher) & Eythian Wright, and as well as many cousins and their families. Freddie was preceded in death by wife, Ericka Bauer Ruffin, Freddie graduated from Morris high School in the Bronx, NY and went on to receive a BS degree in Therapeutic Recreation. His career included a stint in TV broadcasting at NBC and a Communications career with the Virgin Islands Telephone Company (VITELCO) in St. Thomas, USVI. Freddie was also a small business owner (Boss Video) in the Virgin Islands for several years. All who knew him remember Freddie as someone who possessed many talents, from athletics (basketball) to cooking to the arts. He was one who could do just about anything and do it well. Most of all, Freddie will be fondly remembered as on who had the gift of gab like no other. A memorial service will be held in Freddie’s honor on Saturday, Augusta 20, 2022 at 1 PM at C.A. Reid Sr. Memorial Gibson Chapel.
