Bessie Laverne Lewis Edwards, born on May 23, 1953, in Augusta, Georgia, passed away on June 16, 2024 in the same city where she spent her life. She a dedicated Personal Care Assistant (PCA) at. John's Towers, where she brought comfort and care to those in need.

Known for her compassionate nature and unwavering commitment to serving others, Bessie touched the lives of many during her time at St. John's Towers. Her kindness and empathy were evident in all aspects of her work, making her a beloved member of the community.

Family and friends of Bessie will gather to pay their respects during the visitation at C.A. Reid Sr. Memorial Funeral Home on Friday, June 28, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The funeral service will be held at Olivet Missionary Baptist Church on Saturday, June 29, 2024, starting at 11:00 AM. Following the service, Bessie will be laid to rest at Walker Memorial Park at 12:15 PM.
