Bernice Burns

Bernice Burns, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, was born on April 17, 9, and peacefully departed from this world on January 5, 2025. She was 75 years old and left behind a legacy of love and compassion that will be cherished forever by those whose lives she touched.

A graduate of Jefferson High School in Bath, South Carolina, Bernice was known for her dedication to her family and community. Her warm smile and gentle heart were evident in her active participation at Science Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Edgefield, South Carolina, where she found joy and belonging among her fellow parishioners.

Bernice is survived by her cherished children: Robert Edward Burns, Jr., Vincent O'Neal (Montras) Burns, and Yolanda Denise Burns (Wesley) Felder. Each of her children carries with them the values and love instilled by their mother throughout their lives. She was also a proud grandmother to Dreylond Burns, Wesley Welder, Jr., Demorris Harris, Destyne Elder, Ja-Nicia Wilson, and Monterey Harris, each of whom brought her immeasurable joy and pride. Her heart was once again filled with love with the arrival of her great-granddaughter, Zaire Burns.

While Bernice's presence will be deeply missed, she is reunited in spirit with her beloved grandparents, Moses Laboard and Catherine (Cap) LaBoard, as well as her brother, George Nipper, Jr. Together, they watch over her family with love and guidance.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at C.A. Reid Sr. Memorial Funeral Home, located at 314-A Laney Walker Blvd Ext., Augusta, GA. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, with an interment at Walker Memorial Park, starting at 2:15 PM.

Through her kindness, steadfastness, and unwavering love, Bernice Burns will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends. Her legacy of nurturing connections and spreading joy will forever be a shining light guiding her loved ones through the days ahead.
