Annie Louise Sloans, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on December , 2024, in her hometown of Augusta, Georgia, at the age of 76. Born on January 29, 1948, Annie's life was a tapestry of love, kindness, and unwavering dedication to her family and the profession she cherished.
Annie attended Lucy C. Laney High School, where she laid the foundation for a career that would impact countless lives. She became a certified CNA in home healthcare, channeling her warm and nurturing spirit into caring for others. Her compassion and determination made her not just a caregiver but a source of comfort and strength for all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Family was everything to Annie. She leaves behind four devoted sons, James (Alice) Tolbert, Travis (Kimberly) Sloans, Marcel (Andrea) Sloans, and Carl Sloans, who cherished her deeply. The legacy of her love lives on through her twenty-six grandchildren, thirty-seven great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy to her life.
Annie's bond with her siblings was equally strong. She is survived by her siblings, Franklin (Diane) Tolbert, Barbara Ivey, Mary (Rodney) Fennell, Charlotte McBride, Sandra (Deek) Brinson, Glenda McBride, Vernon McBride, Sr., Freddie (Teresa) McBride, Kenneth McBride and Anthony Freeman. Together, they shared memories that extended beyond words, filled with laughter, support, and a love that transcended life's challenges.
A visitation will be held in her honor on Friday, December 13, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at C.A. Reid Sr. Memorial Funeral Home, located at 314-A Laney Walker Blvd Ext, Augusta, GA. Annie's funeral service will take place on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at 11:00 AM at the same location, followed by interment at South View Cemetery at 12:15 PM.
Annie Louise Sloans’ life was a testament to the power of love, resilience, and service. Her memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those she touched, as they carry forward her legacy of care and compassion. She will be dearly missed, but her spirit will continue to shine brightly among her family and friends.
